Scope: The project consists of upgrades, replacements or refurbishments to most of the components of the HVAC systems for the Peterson Building which has approximately 75,000 square feet of floor space.  Specific items include: replacement of the dual duct mixing boxes with new, complete DDC controls; add hot water duct coils in the two existing bypass ducts from each of the eight dual duct air handling units; retrofit and clean the eight dual duct air handling units, the 100% outside air pre-treat units, and the six smaller air handling units; add balancing dampers and control dampers in the outside air duct discharge into each of the eight mechanical room plenums; replace the two chilled water pumps and the hot water pump with new variable speed drive pumps; replace the 3-way chilled water and hot water coil control valves with 2-way control valves; and, as additive bid alternates, convert the eight dual duct air handling units and the 100% outside air pre-treat unit from constant volume to variable air volume.  Questions regarding scope should be directed to Mr. Hector M. Subcontracting:  All work will be awarded under a single prime contract. Texas A&M University has determined a HUB Subcontracting Plan (HSP) is required for this project. The following potential subcontracting opportunities are probable on this project: electricians; mechanical and HVAC; and sheet metal workers and duct installers.  This list is not a comprehensive list of all subcontracting opportunities for this project.  The Bidder is responsible for identifying all types of potential subcontracting work

Bid Documents: Obtain from the Contracting & Programming office of Physical Plant at (979) 862-1533.  General Contractors may obtain 2 sets and Subcontractors/ Suppliers 1 set.  Return the bid documents in good condition within 3 weeks of the bid opening.

Pre-bid Conference:  10:00 a.m., February 27, 2007, Physical Plant Administration Building, Room 105F, College Station, Texas.

Bid Submittal:  Proposal and HUB Subcontracting Plan (HSP) must be received by the Contracting & Programming office in Room 213 of the Physical Plant Administration Building prior to 2:00 p.m., March 22, 2007. Public bid opening will follow.
